Hilry Kemp
May 5, 1915 - November 19, 2015
Hilry Louise Kemp was born one of ten children on May 5, 1915, in Tupelo, Mississippi to the union of Hilary Louis Turner and Doc Turner, who both preceded her in death. Hilry’s mom and dad moved to St. Louis when she was very small. Hilry married Horace S. Kemp, Sr. (deceased) and of that union five children were born: Annita Bonner (Ronald), both preceded her in death, Katherine Mathews (Leonard), Horace Kemp, Jr., Willie Kemp (Valda) and Ronald Kemp, all of St. Louis, Missouri. Hilry was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Hilry was a helpful person, anybody that needed help, just needed to ask and she was there for them. “Dips”, as she was called by family, loved to cook for the holidays and have the family over. Hilry passed from this earth on Thursday, November 19, 2015. She was a wonderful mom and was loved by all that knew her. Hilry leaves to cherish her memory: her brother ~ Alfred Turner of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister ~ Delores Strong of Jacksonville, Florida; sister-in-law ~ Juanita Patton of St. Louis, Missouri; four children Katherine Mathews (Leonard), Horace Kemp, Jr., Willie Kemp (Valda) and Ronald Kemp; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
