    Neaster Sanders Green

    June 3, 1918 - July 4, 2015

Neaster Sanders Green born June 3, 1918 in Town Creek, Alabama to Jesse and LeBerta Sanders, whom preceded her in death. “Hess” as she was known by many, left Alabama, making St. Louis her home at an early age. It was here that she accepted Christ and became a member of Bethany New Life Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Hope. She served in many ministries. Hess loved family, friends and fishing. She was also known to hit the dance floor whenever the opportunity presented itself. Before retiring from home health services, she enjoyed visiting and helping the elderly. Hess departed this life (like the fire cracker that she was) on July 4, 2015, in the Alexian Brothers Sherbrooke Village nursing facility, after a lengthy bout with cancer. Being the matriarch of six generations, she leaves to cherish her memories children Siger Lee Humphrey of St. Louis, MO and Robert Earl (Tina) Houston of Huntsville, Al. Her son Preston Steward and daughter Pearlie Mae Beddingfield preceded her death, as did all of her siblings. Also left to celebrate her are 23 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren, 5 great-great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and church members. After nine plus decades and countless memories, Hess will be missed by many.
