Alfred Hodges Buggs' Obituary
Alfred Hodges Buggs was born September 27, 1948 in St. Louis,
Missouri to the union of Hosea and Georgia (Duncan) Buggs. Both
parents preceded him in death. He was the second oldest of seven
children.
He was educated in the St. Louis Public School System graduating from
Beaumont High School in 1966 and was a wiz at mathematics and
really enjoyed working with numbers. In March 1968, he was drafted
into the Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He worked at General
Motors as an assembly worker.
Al was a very quiet and gentle man who enjoyed spending time with his
family. He was very generous and always willing to lend a helping hand
when asked or needed. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and
Savior at a later age. He was happily married to Sherry Thomas-Buggs
until her untimely death in March 2013.
He departed this life peacefully on October 25, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at
Garden Plaza with this daughter by his side.
He leaves with loving memories: daughter ~ Andrea (Janine) BuggsWilliams; three grandchildren ~ Byron Williams, Jr., Bryce Williams and
Ariana Williams; four sisters ~ Frances Buggs, Gloria Horne, Ethel Burch
and Susan Wash; two brothers ~ Howard Buggs (Carolyn) and Michael
Buggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand
nephews, cousins and friends.
