Allen McCall's Obituary
Allen McCall was born on August 15, 1939 in Sunflower, Mississippi to
the union of Neal McCall, Sr. and Cora E. Triplett McCall; who preceded
him in death along with fourteen siblings.
Allen attended Cleveland Colored Consolidated School System (grades
six through ten) and Eastside High School in Cleveland, Mississippi.
In 1969, he was one of the first black men to work on the Plaza in
Kansas City, Missouri, where he managed the Putsch’s Sidewalk Café.
Later he went on to manage several well known restaurants.
He gave his life to Christ at a young age. Allen was an avid basketball
player and loved to travel.
Allen and Denise were united in Holy Matrimony, July 4, 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife ~ Denise McCall, twin sister
~ Alma Brown, seven children ~ David McCall, Debra Carter, Cheryl
McConnell, Carol McCall, Robert McCall, Kristian McCall and Stephen
Merritt, three stepsons ~ Ryan Garrett, Rynell Garrett and Rickey
Garrett, II, nine grandchildren ~ Brian Dixon, Mack Allen McConnell IV,
Alicia Byers, Lashonda McConnell, Latoya McConnell, Hunter McCall,
Madison McCall, Maia McCall and Margo McCall, three step
grandchildren ~ Ryan Garrett, II, Jaden Garrett, Rimia Garrett and Ryah
Garrett, seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives and friends who all loved him dearly.
