Anita Rochelle Tate's Obituary
Anita Rochelle Tate (Bradford) was affectionately known as Rochelle, Roseyboo or Rosey, she was born in Los
Angeles, California on September 14, 1958, to Charles and Evelyn Bradford. She was the third of seven girls
born to her parents. Her family relocated to Kinloch, Missouri in 1969 where she attended school and was in the
last graduating class of Kinloch High School in 1976.
Rochelle attended Northeast Missouri State University, now known as Truman State, she majored in Art. She left
school after her first year and continued to be creative. She was known for many things as it related to her
creativity, she sewed, she braided and did hair and loved cooking. Her love of being creative was passed on to
her daughters. They both are hair stylist and very creative in their own ways. Rochelle made many prom,
bridesmaids, and wedding dresses over the years, She even has made a prom or wedding suit or two. Her most
recent endeavor was crocheting. She made some beautiful baby outfits. Things that we will miss about her are
so many, but one of them will be her cooking a good peach cobbler. In the midst of her creativity she was
employed at Hussmann Refrigeration for a period of time.
Rochelle was the mother of two beautiful daughters, Misty Chinea Freedman and Brittney Malon McCray. She
had four handsome grandsons, James Willis III, Charlie Willis, Christopher Williams and Sir Mitchell.
Rochelle was married to James (Pee Wee) Tate in August 1996. He preceded her in death in 2005. Her Father,
Charles Bradford and her Sister, Bridgette Allen preceded her in death and Brother-in-Law, Tony Allen.
Rochelle leaves behind in addition to her daughters and four grandsons. Her mother, Evelyn Bradford, her
sisters Denise Smith (Felton), Patrice Bradford, Rhonda Bradford, LaShann Bradford, Marilyn McBride. Her uncle
Charles Nelson (Janette) and Aunt Amanda Smith many nieces, nephews and special friends.
