Barbara Jean Casey's Obituary
Barbara Jean Casey was born on May 13, 1941 in Saint Louis, Missouri
to the union of Tommie and Bernice Rodgers. She was the oldest of five
children. Her mother, father, brother, daughter, Sandra and granddaughter,
Tracy all preceded her in death. She attended Sumner High School.
She found Christ at an early age, attending St. Paul AME Church. She
served St. Paul in several capacities; Barbara counseled children,
helped run the food pantry and was a Senior Usher. Camping and
fishing were her favorite hobbies that many did not know of.
She married Robert N. Casey, Sr., to this union four children were born.
She worked tirelessly to support her family at Edison Brothers Distribution
Center from 1966–1994 and Dillard’s Department stores from 1996–
2006.
Barbara departed this life on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She leaves to
cherish her memories: daughter ~ Deborah (Harvey); sons ~ Robert Jr.
(Donna) and Tommie (Ronald); her sisters ~ Audrey Jackson, Jeanette
Rodgers and Patricia Mitchell; four grandchildren ~ Devin, Robert
Cameron, Darius and Chelsea; three great-grandchildren; and a host of
relatives and friends.
