Mrs. Barbara Daniels, affectionally known as “Bobby”, was born on
February 25, 1955 to the union of Hattie B. Johnson and Johnny B. Johnson, Sr.
at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis, Illinois.
She was the third of twelve children. She is preceded in death by, JoAnn
Gordan, Harold Johnson, Johnny B. Johnson, Jr. and husband, Mr. SSG
Charles Daniels.
She began her education in East St. Louis, then Chicago before returning to
East St. Louis, Illinois to finish school. She attended Junior and Senior High

Charles and Barbara joined in Holy Matrimony on December 20, 1974, where
they shared four beautiful children, Tracy L. Daniels-Collins, Charles Johnson,
Carlton A. Daniels and Cornelius N. Daniels.
Mrs. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
sister and daughter. She always opened her home to anyone who needed a
meal or place to stay. She was loved and accepted by everyone she touched,
always left a smile on your face with her sense of humor and witty spirit. She
was shy and very caring. She was that person who would call to check on you,
anytime, day or night to make sure you were okay. She loved to dance, sing,
draw, sew, clean, shop and cook! She was very particular.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherished memories: four children; eight
siblings ~ Mrs. Lavern “Jimmy” Lockett, Larry “Victoria” Johnson, Darryl
Johnson, Patricia Johnson, Kwame Nakumba, Debra Ann Johnson, Timothy
Johnson and Reginald Johnson; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;
nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
