Barbara Jean Henderson-Pritchett's Obituary
Barbara Jean Henderson-Pritchett was born on March 3, 1955 to the union of Frank and Dora Henderson. She was the sixth born of nine children in the household. She had a total of twenty-seven siblings.
Barbara was educated in the Saint Louis Public School System where she graduated from Beaumont High School and then moved on to higher education at Forest Park Community College in St. Louis, Missouri. She was baptized at the age of eleven at Mercy Seat Baptist Church. Barbara fell in love and married the boy next door, Glenn Pritchett. They were best friends and were together in union for forty-three years. They were married for thirty-nine years. She gave birth to two children, Vondell Henderson and then, Glenda Henderson. She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse working at Jewish Hospital, then moved on to work at Regional Medical Center where she transitioned into an RN Case Manager. Later, she returned to Barnes Jewish Medical Center as an RN. She completed her career in medicine at Kindred Hospital as an RN Case Manager.
Barbara loved dancing and shopping. She especially loved decorating for the holidays and dressing up in her after-five dresses and going out on New Year’s Eve.
Barbara transitioned from this life on September 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by both parents Frank and Dora Henderson, two brothers and five sisters, as well as her beloved granddaughter Barbara Teresa Michelle Henderson. She leaves to mourn her passing: thirteen sisters; seven brothers; her husband ~ Glenn Pritchett; son ~ Vondell Henderson (Teana Henderson); daughter ~ Glenda Henderson (Edward King); her granddaughter ~ Elon Henderson; grandsons ~ Amoni Henderson and Isaiah Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
