Byron Darnell Humphrey's Obituary
Mr. Byron Darnell Humphrey, Sr. was a man who presence brought strength, comfort and quiet reassurance to those around him. He was friendly caring and someone people could always count on. Byron was born in St. Louis, Missouri, as a twin, to the union of Harold T. and Valerie Humphrey. As a child, he attended Lively Stone Church and was attending Shalom church at the time of his passing. He was educated in the Saint Louis City and Wellston school districts. Byron was a dedicated and a hardworking man who spent 30 years of his career with the Marriott Corporation where he served as a loss prevention supervisor. His work ethic, consistency and commitment spoke volumes about the kind of man he was. He was reliable, responsible and devoted individual that earned the respect of those he worked with and took pride in protecting and serving others. Outside of work Byron, truly enjoyed life. He loved spending time with family, friends and being outdoors enjoying nature and relaxing with his coffee. Byron always enjoyed traveling and cruising. One of his favorite pastimes was camping. Those simple moments brought him peace and happiness. On Friday, April 24th, 2026, Byron departed this life. Those who preceded him in going home to glory were his father Harold T. Humphrey; his brother Sterling T. Humphrey, Sr.; and his sister Jenelle Shelby Humphrey.
