I delivered Meals on Wheels to Calvin and always enjoyed seeing him and Rocky greet me at the door. Calvin was a warm and joyful man who, as far as I could tell, treated strangers as friends. When I mentioned another client on my Meals on Wheels route wasn’t able to drive and had difficulty getting some groceries, Calvin generously offered that I could share his number with her in case she ever wanted a ride to a local food pantry. Despite never meeting her - only chatting on the phone once or twice - and barely knowing me, he invited both of us to his birthday party to share in his special day with friends and family. While neither of us made that party, we were both so impressed by his desire to include everyone in his happiness. I know he loved playing cards with family and listening to music at gatherings. He clearly was well taken care of by those who loved him, especially Rocky. Sending my best to all his friends and family who must miss him so much this holiday season.
