Christine F. Henderson's Obituary
Christine F. Henderson was born on December 25, 1929, in Drew, Mississippi, to the late Robert Jenkins and Mittie Glover. She was the youngest of eight children, a position that filled her life with the love and laughter of a large and close-knit family. Christine received her education through the Coahoma County School System, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for learning and perseverance. A woman of deep faith, Christine was a dedicated member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, affectionately known as “The Rock.” Her devotion extended beyond worship as she proudly served as a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies of Grace, where she achieved her Fourth Degree, a testament to her commitment to faith, service, and community. Christine was united in marriage to Eddie Ford, and from this union two beloved daughters were born — Evelyn and Anita. She later re-married Howell C. Henderson, to whom she remained a devoted and loving partner until his passing in 1995. Her family was the heart of her world. She was a proud grandmother to Corey (married to Tanya) and Maurice Jr. (married to Sungee), and a joyful great-grandmother to Courtney (Christian), Chelsea (Taylor), Casey (Jake), Christian and Maurice III. Her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit shaped generations and created memories that will live on forever. Christine had a remarkable work ethic and a gift for connecting with people. She worked for many years with Wonder Bread Company and excelled in various sales roles, from Amway to Park Lane Jewelry. Her natural charm and determination made her a true professional — one who “could sell with the best of them” and earned numerous awards to prove it. Beyond her work, Christine enjoyed a full and vibrant life. Her interests included bowling, traveling, sewing, and, on occasion, a trip to the casino for a little fun and excitement. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Eddie Ford and Howell C. Henderson, her daughter Evelyn Cobbins, and her grandson Maurice Grangent. Christine leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted daughter ~ Anita Reed; loving grandson ~ Corey Mason; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews, cousins; and a host of family and friends who will forever be inspired by her strength, faith, and grace. Christine lived her life with quiet dignity and unwavering faith. She loved deeply, served faithfully, and trusted God completely. Her life was a reflection of her favorite values — faith, family and love — and her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
