Clinton Lawrence's Obituary
Clinton Lawrence was born on September 23, 1949 to the union of Monroe and Mattie Potter in Starkville, Mississippi. His parents and brother Eddie preceded him in death. Clinton grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Vashon High School.
Clinton worked at Maritz, Inc. as a film processor until he moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 1985. He was a dedicated and faithful member of the St. Andrews Road Church of Christ in Columbia.
If you knew Clinton, you knew he had four loves in life, 1.) studying God’s word, 2.) walking, 3.) eating a good meal and 4.) the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. You knew Clinton enjoyed your meal when he would comment “man that was good”. Clinton could tell you every statistic of each member of the Cardinals Baseball team starting from the 1950’s roster.
Clinton leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters ~ Mary Lawrence Hayes, Beverly Harris (Edgar) and Wanda Lee (James) of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers ~ Monroe Lawrence (Kathy) and Reginald Smith; one aunt ~ Matilda Lawrence; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces; and special friends in Columbia, South Carolina ~ Brother Gary Hoss, Mary Johnson, Nita Johnson, Gretchen Britt and Nancy Bailey.
