Daniel Jacob Long's Obituary
Daniel Jacob Long was born on January 17, 1999, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Aaron
Long and Patrina Long-West. He attended St. Louis Public Schools and graduated
from Parkway Central High School in 2017. He also attended St. Louis Community
College. Daniel was baptized at the age of nine at Southside Church of Christ and
continued his walk with Christ at The McKnight Crossings Church of Christ. After high
school, he joined and attended The Crossings Church. He was very active with the
church youth groups and enjoyed going on mission trips. He often worked as a
Christian camp counselor during the summers and mentored youth.
Creating music was Daniel’s passion. He felt that the Lord had called him to work
with Brian Owens and L.I.F.E. Art Inc. They strived to spread the gospel to teenagers
and young adults and bring them closer to God through their music ministry. He
worked at a variety of jobs to support his passions.
Daniel was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also thought that he was one of the world’s
greatest basketball players and video gamers that has ever lived. His love for
laughter and bringing joy into the lives of others was evident in everything that he
did. His light was unavoidable.
Those left to cherish Daniel’s memory include: His loving mother, Patrina Long-West,
his father, Aaron Long, step-father, Dwayne West, his brothers, Micah, Samuel, and
Matthew, his sisters, Neka, Amaya, and Cia, his grandmothers, Daphne Campbell
and Carol Long, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family.
For the past years, Daniel resided with T.C. and Maria Brown, which became his
second family. They cared for him as if he was their very own. His best friend, Chris,
has been like a brother to him since high school. They were inseparable. There have
been countless friends and mentors that have had a positive impact on Daniel’s life,
he will be missed.
After a life well-lived, his work on earth was done. Jesus called Daniel home on
Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

The family of Daniel Long wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation The
McKnight Crossings Church of Christ, The Crossings Church, The Owen’s
Family, and everyone that has sent comforting messages, phone calls, prayers,
cards, flowers, and other expressions of kindness during this time. May God
bestow His blessings on each and every one of you
