Darin Parker's Obituary
Darin Wendell Parker, 60, of Columbia, MO, formerly of St. Louis, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Darin was born on September 3,1964, in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Oliver Wendell Parker and Adelia Delcenia (Brookins) Parker-Castro. Darin was a proud father to two sons, Jason and Jeremy Parker. Darin graduated from the University of Maryland. He worked at ORACLE as a Certified Generative AI Professional. He was also a MultiCloud Architect, a DELL Converged Infrastructure/Hyper-converged Infrastructure Specialist on VMware; CISCO Unified Computing System, a AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and on the AI & Machine Learning Foundations. Darin served in the Army in the United States Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division. In his spare time Darin enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was a true foodie. In his earlier years, Darin greatly enjoyed drawing, photography, and playing football.
Darin is survived by his sons, Jason Parker of St. Louis and Jeremy Parker (Stella) of Arizona; his mother, Adelia of St. Louis; siblings, Tina (Corey) Upchurch-Williams of San Jacinto, CA, John Mahaney (Raye) of St. Louis, Teddy Clark (Shandra) of Clarence, Jomo (Gena) Castro of St. Louis, Veronica (Lee) Upchurch-James of St. Louis, and Victor (Shaunda) Upchurch of St. Louis; a close friend Greg (Jamie) Easley of Columbia; many other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Wendell Parker, Michael Castro, Blonnie Ella Parker; uncles and aunts.
A veteran’s service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at The City Foundry.
