Darwin LeRoy Sherod's Obituary
Darwin Sherod was called home at seventy years old on March 17, 2023.
Darwin was born on January 16, 1953 in St. Louis , Missouri. He was the son
of the late Willie McGee, Jean E. Sherod, and John Sherod. Darwin was
surrounded by love and shared his childhood with his three siblings Ronald,
Jean and Paul.
Darwin studied very hard and earned his bachelor’s degree in culinary arts at
St. Louis Community College. He worked tirelessly as a diligent Chef at
Aramark food service and dedicated over a decade. He enjoyed disk golf,
classic rock, jazz, comedy, traveling and spending time with his family and
friends. His biggest accomplishment in life was how he touched the hearts of
others. Developing lifelong friendships and valuable interactions with family.
He helped organize and cater many family and friend events showing off his
culinary skills and amazing sets of cutlery. Sculpting fruits and vegetables into
works of art.
Darwin was also known as “DAR” and for his cunning wit. As Darwin grew
older with the years he was blessed with a plethora of grandchildren. He
attended and showed support at countless concerts, games, graduations,
comedy shows and school functions. He helped others through trying times
and kept a smile on his face.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother. Darwin is survived
by his brother ~ Paul; daughter ~ Sunai; son ~ Jerrell (Mary); nine
grandchildren ~ Camryn, Damont’e, Jerrell Jr, Jaylen, Elyijah, Jeremiah, Xavier,
Madison and Dalton; special friends and a host of nieces, and nephews
