David Dixon

David Dixon, Sr. was born June 26, 1950 to the union of Charlie and Willie Mammie Dixon. He was raised in Kinloch, Missouri. David began his love for the Lord at a very young age and credits his mother with teaching and strengthening his knowledge of God. He accepted the Lord and grew in his stewardship ministry. He began his passion for basketball and fishing as a little tyke. Throughout high school, his basketball passion grew into earning him a full collegiate scholarship. Upon graduating from Kinloch High, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. On his return, he spent a year in the School of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. David married his high school sweetheart, Carol and began to build a beautiful family. He also dove into his word and sought out biblical mentorship. He humbly grew his servant heart as a deacon and a student of the Word through personal devotion, Sunday school and Sunday preaching. Simultaneously, he decided to pursue a career in plumbing and took on an apprenticeship with E&M Plumbing. He became a meticulous licensed Journeyman Plumber. He retired from plumbing after 43 years of work. As a gifted craftsman, he lived by the motto, “If you’re going to do it, do it right.” In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time in God’s word and fishing. You could find him every morning searching through scripture, praising God for His blessings, and humming his gratefulness in his baritone voice. During the days, you could find him working and refining his home or others’ and/or fishing in different bodies of waters: lakes, ponds, streams, and ditches/trenches deep enough to hold the Big Ole Bass. At night, you may find him in the dining room or another place in the house at his father’s throne deepening his relationship. His life centered on three things: God, family/friends, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Willie Mammie Dixon, his siblings Emma, Odessa, Tommy and Charlie Dee. He leaves his legacy to: his siblings ~ Willie (Verline), Charlie Mae, Dorthy, and Mammie (Eddie); wife ~ Carol; children ~ D’Ambora, David Jr. (Tiffany), Monica, Jeremy Sr. (Katura), Samuel Sr. (Marquita) and Benjamin Sr. (Kimberly); grandchildren ~ Aviona, David III, Benjamin Jr., Jeremy Jr., Londyn Denise, Kamarey, Ezekiel, Kayden, Jayden, Madison, Timothy, Kayley, Landon and Samuel Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
