Derrick D. Irving's Obituary
Derrick Deon Irving was born August 7, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri to LaWanda Angelique Griffin and Donald Eugene Irving, Jr.
He was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools and received his Pharmacy Tech Certification from St. Louis College of Health Careers.
He confessed his faith at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 9.
Derrick had two very special male figures in his life. Troy Loving, who was a part of his younger years and Kenneth McClair, who he called his dad, and shared a special bond.
Derrick departed this life on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
Derrick is preceded in death by his brother, Mayon Dickson; maternal great grandmother, Lula Mae Griffin, paternal grandmother, Juanetta Perkins, great aunt, Rosetta Miller and cousins, Baby Rex and Pauline Nicole Griffin.
Derrick leaves to cherish his memories: his mother ~ LaWanda Griffin; his father (who he loved and had a special bond) ~ Donald Irving, Jr.; eight children including ~ Da’Mya Irving, Da’Niya Irving, De’Aira Irving, DaRiah Irving, Choyce Irving, Derrick Irving, Jr. and Destiny Irving; sister ~ Erica Stewart; aunts ~ Melody Taylor, Dannielle Irving, Erin Griffin, China Johnson and Franchesca Griffin; uncles ~ Willie Griffin, Jr., William Griffin, Bryant Perkins and Barry Perkins, Jr.; grandparents ~ Willie and Venita Griffin; God-brothers ~ Mark and Marcus Smith; and a host of cousins and friends.
