Ms. Dionne M. Henderson's Obituary
Dionne M. Henderson was born on the 19th day of October, 1972 to Brenda M.
Henderson and Leslie Roberts in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dionne attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Pattonville Heights Middle
School for her early education. She later attended Pattonville Senior and Vashon
High School; receiving her GED from St. Louis Job Corps in 1992.
Iggy, as she was affectionately called, was baptized at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church in 1973. In 2011, Dionne continued her faith, receiving communion and
confirmation along with her family members at St. Elizabeth Mother of John the
Baptist Catholic Church.
Iggy had many occupations and hobbies. She worked as a manager at Jack in the
Box, Inc. from 1992 – 1996 and Taco Bell, Inc. from 1996 – 1998. However, she
loved to drive big cars which lead to her interest and later employment as a bus
driver for Atlantic Express, Inc. from 1998 - 2005. She also loved being special
events driver for St. Louis Catholic Academy and cooking at Nick’s Bar & Grill.
Dionne departed this life on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at approximately
2:35 a.m.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Leslie Roberts, her maternal
grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John Henderson; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs.
Claude Roberts; one aunt, Rosetta L. Henderson-Prater; and two uncles, Dino and
Tony Henderson.
Those of us who were fortunate enough to have known Dionne will remember her
as a funny, down-to-earth and loving person. She was always smiling, loved to
talk and her laugh was distinct and identifiable to most. When she was in the
room, everyone knew it. Having fun with her family and friends was a must. She
was a kid at heart and loved her cartoons. Every person that has known our
beloved Dionne had a special moment with her that will forever be embraced in
our hearts.
Dionne leaves to cherish her memories: her only daughter ~ Alexus J. Henderson;
her mother ~ Brenda Kelly (Frank), two sisters ~ LaDonna D. Henderson and
Virgie Hugger; one brother ~ Pierre Abernathy; three nieces ~ Brittney S.
Henderson, Alesha Abernathy and Vanessa Hugger; four aunts, Nicole Roberts,
Linda Finley, Jackie Roberts and Bea Phillips; two nephews ~ Kenneth Hugger
and Arrod Chambers, Jr.; three uncles ~ Van R. Henderson, Virgil and Ernest
Roberts; two special cousins ~ Carlos (Tasha) and Selena Henderson; two great
aunts ~ Essie Mae Wesson and Mozetta Davis; special friend ~ Eric Jackson and
a host of cousins and friends
