Donald H. Thompson's Obituary
Donald Houston Thompson was born on July 17, 1949 in Memphis,
Tennessee to parents, Lewis J. Thompson and Margaret Thompson.
Donald graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. He would later receive a Masters in Theology.
Donald Thompson became a U.S. Marine and received several military
honors while serving in Vietnam.
Donald was baptized at the age of eleven years old at his father’s
church, Ebenezer Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His church home
would later become Olivette M. B. Church under the pastorage of Pastor
Tate, who appointed him to be a Para Pastor.
Donald was joined in Holy Matrimony to Myra in 1984 and to this union
three children were born, Demetrius, Donna and Martina.
He retired from the Saint Louis County Library. One of his greatest
accomplishments was being the pastor of Glendale Baptist Church for
fifteen years.
Donald enjoyed reading and watching sports. He also enjoyed the great
outdoors. He was a true light to every persons path when he entered
the room.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Donald leaves to cherish: his wife ~ Myra; children ~ Demetrius
Thompson, LaDonna Thompson and Martina Cagle; siblings ~ Evelyn,
Bessie, Joyce Elaine, Dorothy and Antonio; eight grandchildren; and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
