I tell the story often of the day Roy died and taking Dorenda, Angie, and Debbie to pick up Roy's van. I looked in my rearview mirror and watched Dorenda. Before that day, I do not think I knew what grace and faith looked like, but that day I saw it in my mirror. Dorenda said that day that she would see Roy again and I can imagine what a glorious day that was!

You were the most faithful, dearest mother to Mark, Tim, Steve, Debbie, and me. You were there for all of us when we lost Dad. You stood alone for 20 years after Dad passed on, and only God knows the inner strength you had to come through with my siblings and me.
You were precious, a gift from God, so much beauty, grace, love, and patience. You touched my heart in so many ways; even on dark days, your strength and smile made me realize I had an angel beside me.
Mama, you heard God’s whisper, calling you home; you did not want to leave us. I saw how you fought. You loved us so much that you held on tight until all your strength was gone, and you could no longer hold on. Finally, you gave your hand to God and slipped away quietly to be with Dad, Aunt Nellie, Grandma Ginny, Nanny, Papa, and all the saints that came before you.
I will forever love and adore you, Mama, for everything you taught us in life. Your death took away joy from our lives, but we will hold on to the beautiful memories of times spent with you.
