Doris Ann Townsend's Obituary
Doris Ann Townsend was born July 11, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan.
Amongst her many titles she was most known as a loving spouse, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a devoted daughter to
Gilbert Page who preceded her in death. Doris was also very passionate
about her Aunt B, as she would call her. She played a significant role in
her life; Helping and grooming her to become the caring woman we all
knew her to be.
She moved to Saint Louis, Missouri as a child and quickly found herself
emersed in reading and became quite the creative writer. She took pride
at an early age of caring for family as she helped her father, Gilbert, run
their family motel and bar. In 1962 she became a mother to her only
daughter, Mrs. Terri Rice and on December 30, 1966, she married her
husband of 54 Years, Clarence Townsend.
Aside from the responsibilities of raising a family, she enjoyed her
astrology books, gardening and always provided a helping hand to anyone
in need. Her family and friends would describe her as the most kind
person you’d ever meet.
She leaves her legacy of love to: her husband ~ Clarence Townsend;
daughter ~ Terri Rice; two grandchildren ~ Tayja Rice and Terrell (Erika)
Rice; and a great granddaughter ~ Zariyah Rice.
