Feryle A. Cooper's Obituary
Feryle Armstrong Cooper was born on October 7, 1938 in Saint Louis,
Missouri to the union of Mallie (Shelton) Armstrong and Joe B.
Armstrong.
Feryle graduated from McKinley High School (Integrated) and went on
to continue her education at Saint Louis Community College and
Washington University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with a
double major in Sociology and Social Work. She then obtained a
Master’s Degree in Social Work; a PhD in Social Work and was a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). In 1988, she became the
founder of House of Pais, Inc.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Throughout her life she
attended multiple churches: Baptist Church of the Holy Communion,
Saint Louis Christian Center and Church on the Rock.
On November 8, 1963, she was united in marriage to Earl Cooper and
to this union, one child was born, Stanford Scott Cooper.
Feryle enlisted in the U.S. Army where she served from 1958 - 1961.
She was employed with the Veterans Administration for thirty years.
Feryle transitioned to her heavenly home on September 1, 2021. She
was preceded in death by her father, Joe B. Armstrong; mother, Mallie
Armstrong, brothers, Sylvester Meek and George Meek; niece, Edith S.
Thomas and great niece, Dewande Holmes.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son ~ Stanford Scott Cooper;
sister ~ Almarie Hodges; grandchildren ~ Michaela Marshall, Stanford
Cooper, II, Sebastian Cooper, Solomon Cooper and Lindsay Byrd;
Yvonne Ford, Vance Hodges, Constance Hodges; and a host of great
nieces, great nephews, other family members and friends.
