Gary Renard Sykes' Obituary
Gary R. Sykes was born on July 17, 1953 in Saint Louis Missouri to the
union of Willie Lee and Bernice Sykes. He attended Beaumont High
School and graduated in 1972. He also attended the University of
Missouri Saint Louis.
Gary was dedicated and proud to be a father and grandfather. He had
a desire to study the divinity of being born a black man. Those who
knew him experienced his passion for growing cactus plants and green
things. He was always repotting plants or working on his garden. You
couldn’t find a greener thumb in Saint Louis.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Bernice
Sykes. Gary departed from us on December 30, 2021.
Gary leaves to cherish his memories: his wife ~ Ricci Sykes; two
daughters ~ Elisheva and Abriela; one son ~ Jelani; two brothers ~
Darryl and Rodney; four grandchildren ~ Mekhi, Ayanna, Lauryn and
Anahla; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
