George McKinney's Obituary
George Washington McKinney II, the son of the late George Washington
McKinney I and the ever present Margaret McKinney was born on
June 20, 1946 in Saint Louis, Missouri.
George was raised and attended Saint Louis Metro Public Schools.
George, A.K.A. Geo, inevitably had an organic passion for the
entertainment industry. In the very early 70’s, with flare and attraction,
he and two other constituents formed a group called The Stimulations.
Their flashy exhilarations blazed to heat the stage as openers for
headliners including the OJays, Harold Melvin, The Blue Note and the
Stylistics, just to list a few.
In 1986, Bishop Irma A. Cannida, with two additional Ministers, chose
to dine at Red Lobster and was greeted by the most smooth and prompt
server ever. The gentleman’s I.D. tag bore the name Geo. The diners
were beyond impressed, thinking, “TIP???” Naw, perhaps we’d better
TITHE!” as his service is like Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the
LORD!” Friendships were framed and shortly thereafter Geo
rededicated his life to the Most High and joined Greater True Vine
Miracle Temple, where Bishop Cannida is the Lead Pastor. Geo excelled
loyalty. His presence in the house was of great quality.
Through music recordings and producing plays from Parables of our
Greatest Teacher in 1987, along with Rita René Nichols, Geo
Co-Founded Lighthouse Christian Tutelage Chapter One.
Just like the gentleman he was, Geo gently walked away from this side
and is now embracing all the treasure The Holy Father has stored up for
him for his fine deeds in Earth’s realm. His daughter, Gwendolyn and
his dad, George Washington McKinney I have each preceded his entry
into that Great Cloud of Witnesses.
Geo will tremendously be missed by: his mother ~ Margaret McKinney
and undisputable reflections of Geo’s light shall persistently pass
beams brilliantly glistening from his beloved dynasty of three children ~
Taron, Deonta (Christy) and LaTasha (Brian); his two brothers ~ Donald
(Essie) and Gregory (Lorene); one sister ~ Libby; thirteen grandchildren;
two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
extended family and friends, including many of you.
