Geraldine Miller's Obituary
Geraldine Miller began her education in the Denmark, Tennessee
Public School System and attended West High School. She
enjoyed home economic classes consisting of cooking, baking,
health, sewing, gardening and other homemaking management
areas.
She confessed her belief in Jesus Christ at an early age and was
baptized and joined Denmark Baptist Church in Denmark, Ten
nessee.
On May 06, 1966, Geraldine was united in holy matrimony to
Titus Miller. The couple relocated to St. Louis, MO and raised
four children, Garrett, Regina, Dorian (preceded her in death)
and Tyrone.
Geraldine dedicated over 30 years of service to Cardinal
Glennon Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit (NICU); a unit where babies go when born early, with
health problems, or a difficult birth. During her work in
Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit, Geraldine enjoyed spending
time with babies around the clock and supporting parents and
families. She retired from Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital
in February 1991, to care for her three grandchildren following
the death of her daughter, Regina, from childbirth.
In August 2010, Geraldine returned to the workforce as a
college student advisor at St. Louis Community College-Forest
Park. In this role, she collaborated and guided students with
their academics, career pathway and personal issues to meet all
their requirements to graduate with a degree in their field of
study.
Geraldine continued her spiritual journey with the Lord and
joined Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in 1972 under
the leadership of Reverend Solomon Wilson where she was an
active member of the Adult Choir, Baptist Training Union
(BTU), St. Louis Progressive District Association, Sunday
School Teacher, Youth Director and Woman’s Missionary Un
ion (WMU) Young Adult Women.
In later years, Geraldine joined Olivet Missionary Baptist
Church and was a faithful member of the church.
She departed this earthly life on July 29, 2024, peacefully at
Christian Northeast Hospital, surrounded by a host of family
and friends.
Geraldine Miller leaves to cherish her memories: her husband
Titus Miller; a devoted son, Tyrone Miller; six grandchildren,
Cecily Young, Regina (Otha) Washington, Titus Young, Taylor
Miller, Imani Miller and Kyndal Miller; three great grandchildren,
Messiah Washington, Ra Washington and Titus Jr.; four
siblings; Pearline Graves, Mattie Morrow, Mamie Marshall and
Nellie Weddle, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends,
surrogate children and church family. Among those mourning
her loss are also several special friends who were like family.
She loved them dearly.
