Geraldine Odum's Obituary
Geraldine Odum was born Geraldine West on August 28, 1949 in Hayti,
Missouri to Mozelle West and Clifford Sanders. She was the oldest of
eight children. One brother, Eugene West and grandparents, Percy
West, Sr. and Mamie West preceded her in death.
Geraldine was born of the Spirit of God on March 10, 1968 under the
leadership of Reverend Andrew Lee Smith at Rising Star Missionary
Baptist Church and was baptized in the Mississippi River on August 25, 1968.
Geraldine was a member of the Young Adult Choir in her early years.
Geraldine was a product of the Saint Louis Public Schools and a
graduate of Beaumont High School. She was employed by the Saint
Louis Public Schools until retiring in 2016.
Geraldine enjoyed life to the fullest, she was fun and had an awesome
personality. Her interest included singing, dancing, skating, music,
reading, cooking and acts of kindness. Geraldine was a dedicated
family person and always brought the family together for many family
functions.
Geraldine adored her two children, Angela and Devarick. She also took
great pride in being a grandmother to Sheana and PJ and great
grandmother to Ryleigh.
Geraldine made her peaceful transition to her glorious mansion on
Monday, November 4, 2019.

Odum; her loving mother ~ Mozelle (West) Jones; her exceptional
devoted daughter ~ Angela (Steven) Bailey; her joy, her son ~ Devarick
Thompson; three brothers ~ Phillip Watts, Ronald (Tara) Jones and
Orlandis (Alesa) Roby of El Paso, Texas; three sisters ~ Tammy Jones of
Atlanta, Georgia, Pamela Sears and Evangeline Poindexter;
granddaughter ~ Sheana Graham of Westmont, Illinois; grandson ~
Phillip McLaurin, Jr.; one dear special friend ~ Gwenett Gregory; one
amazing, very special cousin ~ Ronnie Spencer; two goddaughters ~
Dana Ervin and Trina Hogans; one godson ~ Jermaine Scruggs; and a
host of uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
