Geraldine Shelton's Obituary
Geraldine K. Shelton was born on July 7, 1927 to Nellie Sanders.
She was the second of four children. She was preceded in death by her
mother and one brother, Albert Nick Sanders.
During her youth she grew up in the Ville section of St. Louis, attending
the St. Louis Public Schools, Riddick Cole and Sumner High.
Gerry gave her life to Christ at an early age.
She was an active member of New Mt. Gideon West Baptist Church and
later joined St. Louis G2GCC in 1996.
She was married to Edward John Means and from this union were three
children, Edward Jr., Deborah Ann and Anthony Cornell. Gerry later
married Daniel B. Shelton, who also preceded her in death.
Gerry was loved by all she came into contact with. She worked at Firmin
Desloge and Cardinal Glennon Hospital where she retired in 1989.
Mom transitioned from time to eternity quietly and peacefully on
Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 3:20 p.m. in the presence of loved
ones.
She leaves to cherish her and celebrate her life: her three children and
their spouses: Edward Means, Jr. (Cecilia), Deborah Barnes (Eddie) and
Anthony Cornell Means (Clarissa); sisters ~ Arnita (David) White and
Janet Hood; grandchildren; great grandchildren; a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and a special friend ~ Alberta Young.
