James Allen's Obituary
James Lewis Allen was born on July 12, 1933 in Saint Louis,
Missouri to the union of James Allen and Dorothy
Woods-Allen; he was the oldest of seven children. Both
parents and four of his siblings; Leon, Harold, Norma and
Fredrick Allen all preceded him in death.
James attended the Saint Louis Parochial School Systems.
James was a part of the United States Army and served in
the Korean War from 1952 - 1955.
James was united in Holy Matrimony on April 30, 1960 to
Shirley Gayle Frazier, who preceded him in death. To this
union two daughters were born, Tari Lynne and Cheryl
Denise.
James found Christ at an early age and was a parishioner at
Visitation Catholic Church in Saint Louis, Missouri. James
joined Christ Our Redeemer AME Church in 2003 under the
leadership of Rev. Edmund E. Lowe, Sr.; and attended as a
faithful member until his health began to decline.
James was employed by Edison Brothers Distributions Center
for thirty-eight years, from which he retired.
James departed this life on Friday, July 31, 2020.
James leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters ~ Tari
Cherry and Cheryl Lee (David); one beloved granddaughter ~
Breonna Milton “Old Timer” (Andrew); two siblings ~
Benjamin Allen (Laverne) and Victoria Chinn; three
goddaughters ~ Sharrilyn Rose (Lamar), Christal Kemp
(Theodes “Ted”) and Michelle Henriquez (Sheldon); and a
host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
