James Anthony Davis Sr.'s Obituary
James A. Davis, Sr. was born November 25, 1960 in Saint Louis, Missouri to
the union of Walter C. Bell and Jean Bell. His father, Walter C. Bell;
grandmothers, Brady Bell and Mandy Davis; uncle, Woodrow Davis and
best friend, Earl Bagby all preceded him in transition.
James was enrolled in the Saint Louis Public School System, where he
attended Vashon High School and later received his GED. He worked at
Jewish Hospital from 1987—1997 and at The Jewish Community Center
from 1997-2021; he was happily employed for twenty-three years.
James enjoyed music, fashion, live bands, traveling, playing the drums
and bestowing love upon his family and friends. James attended Love
Joy Church.
James leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother ~ Jean Bell; his
lifelong companion ~ Carla A. Ward; two children ~ Kalvin A. Davis and
Taryn Ward-Noel (Jamelle); three brothers ~ Kevin Bell, Arnold
Tankford (Mary) and Martin Bell (Trina); three sisters ~ Rochelle Naylor
(John), Bradie McMillian (Chris) and Audrey Whitfield; nine
grandchildren ~ Marnique, Kalvin Jr., Jamelle Jr., Kalynne, Romelle,
Kavon, Karla, Kameron and Kamari; one great grandchild ~ Lyric; a
host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a favorite cousin ~ Mercer
Barnett; lifelong best friend ~ Wendell Harrington and extended family
and friends.
