To Janice's family, I am so deeply moved and so sorry to hear the sad news. We grew up in Clarksdale, went to Tougaloo College together.. Worked together in many actives and projects. We often rode back and forth between Clarksdale and Tougaloo together. What a wonderful time to be alive!! What great memories. She was truly one of a kind. May she rest in peace. A life well lived and a job well done.

I remember Janice at Tougaloo College as if were yesterday .. Janice was always beautiful and kind..
I remember when she , One of the 9 , participated in the Civil rights protest in Jackson, Mississippi .. Her commitment to making a better world is part of her legacy .. She didn’t just talk the talk , she walked the walk!!!
