Jean Bell's Obituary
ean Bell was born on September 15, 1942, in Starkville, Mississippi; to the union of
Calvin Davis and Mandy Davis (Doss).
Jean accepted Christ at an early age and remained dedicated to her faith throughout
her life. Jean was educated in the Oktibbeha County School System.
In 1961 Jean married Walter C. Bell and was blessed with two children from this
union. Later in life she met Floyd Lankford and from this union was blessed with four
more children, Jean was best known for her kind and giving heart. Whenever she
came upon a person or situation that may have needed or wanted her help, she went
above and beyond to provide it. She was known and accepted as a mother figure by
many that crossed her path. She never denied or judged anyone, no matter their
disposition.
Our beautiful angel was called home on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:37 p.m. at
Evelyn's House BJC Hospice in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Mandy Davis; her husband,
Walter C. Bell; life partner, Floyd Lankford; brother, Woodrow Davis; son, James A.
Davis; two granddaughters, Danielle H. Bell and Alicia M. Whitfield; and her grandson,
Grayson L. Aldenderfer.
Jean leaves to cherish her precious memories: five children, Kevin (Diane) Bell of St.
Louis, MO, Rochelle-Bell (John) Naylor of Aurora, CO, Arnold (Mary) Lankford of St.
Louis, MO, Martin (Katrina) Bell of St. Louis, MO, and Audrey-Bell (Charles) Whitfield of
St. Louis, MO; one brother, Cleo Davis of St. Louis, MO; one godson, Wendell Harrington of St. Louis, MO; twenty-two grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins, dear friends and Kindest of Caregivers, Barbara Hinton, Yvette Mills
and Mary Lewis.
