To the Swan Family
Chelley and I are truly blessed to have your family as our long‑time neighbors on Red Bud Avenue. I can still picture Mr. Swan walking out the door each morning with his black jacket folded over his arm, heading to work to provide for his family. Mr. and Mrs. Swan always made my family and me feel welcome in their home, and I hold so many cherished memories from those years.
I especially remember the joy of growing up with Dana. We spent countless hours playing together, and many nights we would talk through our bedroom and bathroom windows until we finally fell asleep. To me, Dana wasn’t just a neighbor — she was my best friend.
I will never forget the day my sister, Chelley, ran next door to the Swans after discovering an intruder in our home. One of the Swan brothers came over immediately to make sure we were safe. That was the kind of family they were — steady, protective, and always there when it mattered.
Even after the Swans moved away in the late 1980s, our families stayed connected. I remember Mr. and Mrs. Swan reaching out to me when my mother passed away. Mr. Swan offered such thoughtful advice about caring for our health through diet and lifestyle, and I took his words to heart. Over the years, the Swans continued to show up for us — through the loss of both of my parents and later my brothers, Pete and Mickey. Their kindness has been a constant source of comfort.
In today’s world, it is rare to have neighbors who become lifelong family. The Swans were exactly that for us, and I will always be grateful for the love, support, and memories we shared.
I thank God for placing the Swan family in our lives and for the many years of kindness, protection, and friendship we shared. Mr. Swan’s gentle spirit and generous heart will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace, and may the Lord comfort and strengthen the entire Swan family during this time of loss.
Much Love to All
