Karl Jones' Obituary
Karl “Kroppy” Jones was born July 10, 1940, to Onie Jones and Luther
Jones. Karl was the sixth of eight children. He was preceded in death by
both parents; siblings, Raymond, Kenneth (his fraternal twin), Brenda,
Donald and Bobbie; and his son-in-law, Douglas Trice, III.
After graduating from Vashon High School, Karl joined the United States
Air Force; where he met the love of his life, Frankie Lambert, while he
was based in Lincoln, Nebraska. They were married on March 22, 1968
after his Honorable Military Discharge. They made a home in Saint
Louis, Missouri and had two daughters, Kara and Dorian.
Karl excelled in the profession of Plumbing. A lifelong learner, Karl
obtained additional training and licenses throughout his vocation. He
used his many talents and skills while employed with Carter Carburetor,
Chrysler, and Saint Louis Public Schools. Karl also found time to run his
own plumbing business called Northside Plumbing.
In earlier years, Karl loved to keep his yard looking beautiful and grow
fruits and vegetables in his backyard garden. He was a stickler for a
neat lawn! Having an adventurous palate, he loved to eat and cook
good food. Some of his favorites were baked macaroni and cheese,
linguini with white sauce, and cornbread dressing. His favorite dishes to
cook and share were seafood gumbo, barbeque ribs, and fried turkey.
Those close to him recall him being able to toss a variety of random
ingredients into a pot resulting in a delicious meal!
Karl had an outgoing spirit and he never met any strangers. His ability
to carry on a conversation about any topic drew people to him. He could
see the bright side of any situation and bring forth a smile or laughter
from all who were blessed with his presence
Karl departed this life on September 14, 2022. He is survived by: his
wife ~ Frankie Jones; daughters ~ Kara Jones-Trice and Dorian (Eddie)
Doss; grandchildren ~ Devin Trice, Dylan Trice, Emelia Doss and Lydia
Doss; siblings ~ Jeanette, Regina and Althea; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and special friends
