Kenneth Wayne Sloan's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Wayne Sloan was born on September 9, 1963 in
Saint Louis, Missouri to Joe and Darnetta Sloan. He departed this
life on April 9, 2021.
Kenneth was educated in the St. Louis Public School System,
where he was a star athlete and a very challenging competitor.
At the age of thirteen, he was baptized at the Mount Bethany
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late
Reverend Price. He later converted to the Islamic faith and at the
time of his death, he was a dutiful and faithful member of the
Kingdom of Yahweh.
In the year of 1980, Kenneth met his lifetime partner, Ms. Lettie
Noblin in Venice, Illinois, where they remained for over thirty years
before moving back to Saint Louis, Missouri. Two children were
born to this union.
Kenneth worked on the McKinley Bridge as a toll collector for more
than twenty years. He was also the superintendent of streets in
Venice, Illinois, where he was also a contractor and builder. If you
needed something built, he was the man for the job.
Kenneth was CEO and Founder of a Production Studio KS1, where
he helped mentor, produce and booked a lot of local talent. He
was a serious, straight to the point kind of guy. He didn't mix
words. He loved sports of all kinds, especially football and
basketball. He was a well-respected man on both sides of the
River.
He was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, and his
favorite aunt, Magnolia Jaquess.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his lifelong partner, Miss Lettie
(Noblin) Sloan; five children, Durell Reeves, Quanitta Sloan,
Kenneth Sloan, Jr., Kaprix Sloan and Kaniya Sloan ; five brothers,
Rodney Johnson, Tyrone Sloan of Riverside, California, Joe Sloan,
Anthony Sloan and Kelly Ross, all of Saint Louis, Missouri; two
sisters, Sharon (Michael) Sloan-Pendelton of Houston, Texas and
Colleen Sloan of Saint Louis, Missouri; and a host of
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will
always be remembered and live on through the love of family and
friends.
