Lawrence Edwin Jones' Obituary
Lawrence Edwin Jones was born on Monday, April 28th, 1958 in
St. Louis, Missouri. He was the younger of two children born to the
union of Chester P. Jones and Maxine McClendon – Jones. He was
preceded in death by his parents at the age of 58.
Lawrence was educated in both parochial and public schools.
He attended De Andreis High School, but graduated from Northwest
High School. He also attended Forest Park Community College,
majoring in Art and History.
During his early adult years, Lawrence gained a strong passion in
the culinary arts. He gained this love from being a cook in the
cultured atmospheres working at Talayna's Italian Restaurant in
both the Downtown and Forest Park locations. He also prided
himself on working at the Pasta House in which he learned how to
self-invent his own specialty salads and special dressings. He loved
to share his foods with his family and friends at functions.
Lawrence was not only great in his culinary skills, but he also
entrenched himself with reading and researching history. He was
known by many family and friends as a Historian due to his vast
knowledge of ancient history. Lawrence loved to read his National
Geographic magazines and watch anything on television that gave
him more knowledge that he had already attained. He also loved to
teach all of his knowledge to anyone who had an open ear.
Lawrence was baptized in the Catholic Church at an early age, and
occasionally attended St. Alphonsus Ligouri ''Rock'' Church. He also
was a very spiritual being studying and taking lessons from other
faiths such as Buddhism from his studies.
