Lillian L. Davis' Obituary
~ Life is a journey filled with many stops on the side of the road ~
Lillian Lois Davis arrived as an only child from foreign soil by way of
Forrest City and Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She leaped by faith to another
border state and landed in Kinloch, Missouri and then to the City of
Saint Louis, Missouri.
Lillian had a great passion for cooking in which she turned into a
catering career as an entrepreneur. Her love for God being first,
devoted wife to John Davis, Sr., who preceded her in death, caring for
her children and adoring her grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest,
making a new adventure in her life everyday. She was a guide to
encourage and love unconditionally.
She always displayed her faithfulness to her Heavenly Father and
Pastor, the late Rev Earl E. Nance, Sr. and Jr. of the Greater Mount
Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. As trailblazers she and John Sr. were
pillars of the original church that was located on Laclede Ave.
She completed her life journey on June 14th, and is now safely resting
in the arms of Jesus. She was preceded in death by her mother Sarah
Annie Young-Crow, her father Luster Crow, and her beloved son Allen
Luke.
She leaves in loving memory: children ~ Alfred Luke; her devoted
daughter-in-law ~ Darrell Luke, John Davis, Jr., Sarah Ann Davis,
Rochelle Brown; and daughter ~ D’Juana and William Franklin ~ her
devoted son-in-law. Grandchildren ~ Anthony Luke, Chenille Washington,
Jocelyn Luke, Tobias Davis, La Tiffany Banks (Levon), Jevon Strayhorn,
Joshua Davis, Tanya Brown, Erica Johnson (Brandon), Garrett Davis,
Gina Davis, LaToya Strayhorn, Tia Brown and Stephano. With a host of
great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law ~ Myrtle
Wells and Letha Brown; brother-in-law ~ Alphonso Foster; godchildren ~
Karen Sinnie, Ashley Carter and Paul Carter; and host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends
