Ms. Lucy Jean Morgan, 's Obituary
Lucy Morgan was born May 6, 1949 in Louisville, Mississippi. She was
the oldest of five children born to the union of Hamp and Kate Talley.
Hamp preceded her in death.
Lucy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was
educated in the St. Louis Public School System. Lucy was united in holy
matrimony to Eddie Morgan in 1967 and to this union three children
were born.
Lucy was one of the first black women to be hired at Ford Motor
Company in the 1970’s and retired in 1994. After retirement,
she worked effortlessly to help support, raise and nurture her grandchildren
until they became of age. She returned to school and rejoined
the workforce in the healthcare field.
Lucy loved to travel, bake and decorate cakes, assemble puzzles, and
had vast knowledge of Afrocentric Studies. She loved her coffee and
kept up on current events through CNN. Lucy had a great love for her
family, especially her grandchildren.
Lucy was called home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother ~ Mrs. Kate Talley;
four children ~ Stephanie Talley, Edward Morgan (Vivian) of Hartwell,
Georgia, Hope Walker and Felicia “Lisa” Williams (Bruce); five grandchildren:
DoMarco and Dyamond Holley, Joy and Hope Walker, and
Micah Talley; four siblings: one brother ~ Stacey Talley; three sisters ~
Lois Dukes (Kevin), Brenda and Cecilia “Rochelle” Talley; two aunts ~
Catherine and Elizabeth; two uncles ~ Roosevelt (Judy) and Johnny
Miller; and she also leaves a loving host of nieces, cousins and friends.
