Marsha Ann Forbis' Obituary
Marsha Ann Forbis was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on November 2,
1959 to the union of Mildred Elizabeth Harper and George Franklin
Forbis. She was the second youngest of three brothers and three
sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul.
Marsha was confirmed at an early age in the Christian faith at
Samaritan United Methodist Church.
Marsha was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. She
attended Langston Elementary School and graduated from Beaumont
High School in 1978. She received an Associate’s Degree from
Florissant Valley Community College.
Marsha was employed briefly by Edward Jones in Saint Louis. She later
became a Runner at the New York Stock Exchange. She also worked in
retail at Bergdorf Goodman in New York. She ended her career as a
receptionist for a doctor’s office.
Marsha was very photogenic; modeling was her passion. This passion
led Marsha to initially venture to New York, where she worked for the
Ford Modeling Agency.
Marsha’s favorite entertainer was Miss Diana Ross. She was often
called “Mahogany” because of her beauty and style. Her favorite song
was “Free” by Denise Williams.
On May 3, 2019 at 7:36 p.m. eastern time, Marsha departed this earth.
To mourn her transition and cherish fond memories are: her sisters ~
Mamie, Marilyn and Monica; her brothers ~ George Jr. and Ralph; one
sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; five nieces; three nephews; one great
nephew; three great nieces; one aunt; and a host of cousins and
friends. Marsha will be greatly missed.
