Mary Ann Davis' Obituary
Mary Ann Davis was born March 7, 1954, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to the union of the
late David Lee Davis and the late Alice Julia Hatch.
Mary was educated within the Saint Louis Public School District. She was joined in
Holy Matrimony in March of 1977 to Phillip E. Davis and three children were born to
this union. Mary began her career as a Lead Machine Operator with Vestal Laboratories,
St Louis, Missouri. She ended her career of more than 30 years as a Lead Operator at Vi -Jon Laboratories. She was known for her poise, smile, and soft conversations and she
was the of life party. She enjoyed shopping at major department stores and traveling
with family and friends. She attended most extracurricular events for her children,
grandchildren, and great
-grandchildren. She loved to eat soul food. She made some
mean pancakes and bacon for anyone who visited her home. She especially loved eating
potato salad, bar-b-que chicken wings, and pickles with her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. She hosted many family gatherings in her home and cooked big dinners.
She loved to get her hair styled and dressed exceptionally well. She loved crafting,
interior decorating, bingo, and casinos. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren from the bottom of her heart.
Mary accepted Christ early in her life in 1979 and was baptized at Lively Stone Church
under the Late Alphonso Scott She continued her faith journey to Bethesda Temple
Church of the Apostolic Faith under the leadership of the late Bishop James A.
Johnson. Later in life, she attended the New City Fellowship in University, Missouri,
where she rededicated her life to Christ.
Mary transitioned from labor to reward of this life on January 31, 2024, at St. Mary
Hospital. She had (3) siblings, Shirley Hatch
–Wright, Charlie Hatch and James Willie
Hatch, who also preceded her in death. Our dear Mary departed this life to take her seat
and leaves to cherish her memories: (2) daughters ~ Felicia M. Davis
-Riley (Reginald
Riley) of Maryland Heights, Missouri and Kneeshe R. Parkinson of St. Louis, Missouri;
(1) son ~ Delaund C. Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; siblings ~ Mabel Anson, Charles
“Henry” Hatch (Michelle), Samella Hatch, Aaron Hatch, Marvin Hatch of Jackson,
Mississippi, Marian Hatch
-Ingram and Nettie M. Hatch all from St. Louis, Missouri; (2)
stepbrothers ~ Willie Eugene French and J.C. French all from Amory, Mississippi; her
legacy continues through her 5 grandchildren ~ Jasmine A. Davis, Joshuline A. Davis,
Mariah A. Walker all from Atlanta, Georgia, Simora S. Davis of Chandler, Arizona and
Gabrielle D. Davis; 3 great
-grandchildren ~ Darrion O’Neal, Jr., Nova Bishop and
Dawson O’Neal all from St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, greatnephews,great-great nieces, great
-great nephews, cousins, neighbors, and
friends are all from the Saint Louis Metropolitan and surrounding states.
We are so grateful for the devoted services rendered by nursing care facilities and
caregivers from the Saint Louis Metropolitan area. Your unwavering support,
dedication, and countless hours of service have not gone unnoticed.
Arthur Lee Coleman (deceased) St. Louis, Missouri was an amazing life partner for
more than 15 years who affectionately and deeply loved her.
The Amazing Queens of Mary’s Life Thelma Hawkins (deceased); Marylin Ball
Harris, Tondala Vaughn, Marylin Hollins and Elaine Batteast all from Saint Louis,
Missouri whom she affectionately loved. These amazing women supported a thick
friendship that no one could ever destroy.
The Amazing Neighbor’s Love Ms. Donna Finch unwavering love shown for those
store runs, many intimate talks and charismatic compassion. She attended many parties
