Maudelle Frances Torregrossa's Obituary
Maudelle Frances Hodge was born on July 2, 1945 in
Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the fourth child born to the union
of Johnny Lawrence Hodge and Geraldine Louise Owens. She
was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Geraldine
Hodge; her husband, Alphons Albert Torregrossa; brother,
Robert Hodge and one grandson, Alphons Torregrossa III.
Maudelle graduated from Soldan High School in May 1963. She
married Alphons Albert Torregrossa on May 21, 1964; to this
union three children were born.
Maudelle worked as a CNA at Bellefontaine Rehabilitation
Center, Food Service Worker at McDonald’s and Hostess at Old
Country Buffet.
Maudelle was a Parishioner at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
Church. For many years, she bowled at North Oaks Bowl with
her mother, Geraldine and sisters, Katherine and Madeline Kelly
in Dee-Dee Dyson League and Robert Dailey Mixed Bowling
League. Maudelle enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo and
going to the casino. She was known as “The Dancing Machine”
to family and friends.
Maudelle was called home on November 8, 2023 at the age of
seventy-eight. She was surrounded by family with so much love
and will forever be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons ~ Alphons Jr.
(Sharon) and Anthony (Tonia); two daughters ~ Veronica and
Stacy (Keith Sr.); three sisters ~ Katherine (Frank), Hilda
(Hilliard) and Cherlyn; two brothers ~ John (Alethea) and Leo
(Brenda); one brother-in-law ~ Gus Torregrossa; five grandsons
~ Anthony, John, Elijah, Isaiah and Keith Jr; nine granddaughter
~ Ciera, Angela, Ashley, Ericka, Jalaih, Alexis, Aliyah, Michelle
and Kacey;a host of great grandchildren, step grandchildren, aunts,
nieces, nephews, cousins; and two friends ~ Liz and Margaret
