Michael Lewis' Obituary
Michael W. Lewis was born August 28, 1962 to the union of Richard
Hall and Melva Lea Lewis of St. Louis, Missouri. He was the youngest of
four siblings. His mother and two sisters, Beverly Dumas and Jennell
Johnson and his maternal grandparents, Rev. Milbert Griffin and Janie
Richard, all preceded in him death.
Michael attended St. Louis Public Schools and went on to Job Corps in
Kansas City, Missouri, where he got his carpenter certificate. He later
started working rehabbing houses in St. Louis areas. He was very good
with any job he did. He landed a job with Winco Window Co. in
University, Missouri where he was well-liked by many people there.
He was employed there until his untimely death.
Michael confessed the Lord as his savior at an early age while growing
up in St. James Missionary Baptist Church in West St. Louis and loved
to quote verses of the Bible to people. He enjoyed his life and people
around him. He was a very friendly person and got along well with
others. There were a host of names that people would call him like
“Long Head Mike” and “Football Head”. He would always laugh about
the jokes people would say about him. He was a true stand up guy.
The lord called Michael home on Sunday, June 18, 2017. He leaves to
cherish his memory: his brother ~ Dhahir W. Muhummad; his nephews
~ Isaac Daniels and Michael E. Trussell; nieces ~ Melva Johnson,
Beverly Forrest, Jennell Johnson and Danielle Dumas; his special friend
of forty-three years ~ Dewan Harris; his Goddaughter ~ Latrice Harris
and her sons, which he called his boys: Davon Harris and Julius Evans,
Jr. Michael didn’t have any children but treated them as his own.
Michael had a loving friend that he called his dad: Mr. Moody; and a
cool friend named ~ Don Loper. He had many friends including his
Winco Window’s family
