Miranda Luevenia Dancy's Obituary
Miranda Luevenia Dancy was born on July 9, 1981, the first and only child born from the union of Vanessa Dancy and
Randy Diltz, Sr.
Miranda, affectionately called "Bookworm" and "Randi" displayed a love for reading and mathematics at an early age,
which carried on throughout her entire life.
At an early age, Miranda got involved at the World Impact Community Center. It was there that she learned of the
goodness of God and gave her life over to Christ.
Bookworm — being a creative and talented spirit — was fortunate enough to be selected to attend Carr Lane Visual &
Performing Arts Middle School and Central Visual & Performing Arts High School (VAP) where she explored interests in
the violin, the oboe, the piano, vocal music, ceramics, metal-smithing and jewelry making. Miranda was also placed in
advanced math classes. She graduated from VAP in 1999, being ranked #5 of her graduating class.
In the fall of 1999, Miranda began her college journey at Maryville University. She worked in the Admissions office and
became one of the most beloved student employees there. Miranda developed her hair braiding skills on campus,
becoming the dormitory's "resident hair braider." She was always the life of any function happening on or off campus.
Miranda was also very involved in student activities, including participating in kickball games organized by the African
American group on campus. Miranda graduated Maryville University in 2004 with her Bachelor's Degree in Math and
Elementary Education.
Randi loved children and treated all the children that were in her life as if they were her own. Not only was she highly
influential to all of her younger cousins, nieces, and nephews, but she was also the Godmother of her two best friends'
children.
Bookworm loved her family and made it a priority to spend time with her family as much as possible. Some of her
favorite pastimes were playing cards and dancing. She was also a lover of all kinds of music, which aided her in being
able to mesh with people from all walks of life, in turn, extending her "family" here on this Earth.
Miranda was a hard worker and took any and all roles in her life very seriously. She worked for Citi (aka Citibank) for
almost 10 years as an Operations Support Specialist. Her most recent manager stated the following about her: "Miranda
was a hard worker. She was always kind and helpful and had a great attitude. She has friends across all lines of the
business.”
About 8 years ago, Miranda met the love of her life, Brandon Collins. They were inseparable and they brought out the
best in each other. Over the years, they traveled all over the nation together. It can be said that Miranda showed
Brandon the world as she knew it, while Brandon gave Miranda the world. They were slated to be married in May of
2022.
Randi was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and had a great collection of Mickey Mouse memorabilia. It was a lifelong dream
of hers to visit Disneyworld in Florida to see Mickey Mouse in person, and for her 40th birthday in July 2021, she did just
that! Most recently in December of 2021, Miranda fulfilled another dream of hers and took a trip out of the country to
the beautiful Dominican Republic. She made some glorious memories there, documenting her vacation with amazing
pictures and videos.
Our dear Miranda transitioned from the physical to the spiritual realm on February 19, 2022. She was preceded in death
by her great-grandmother (Lula Anderson), her grandmother (Gloria Jean Ward), and her nephew (Randy Diltz, III).
Miranda leaves behind her fiancé ~ Brandon; her mother ~ Vanessa; and father ~ Randy, Sr.; her sisters ~ Danyelle
Dancy, Brandice Dancy (Ricardo), Michelle Ross and LaShawnda Edwards; her brothers ~ Randy Diltz, Jr. (Crystal) and
Kenton Diltz; her Godchildren ~ Byron (Yolanda) and Ahmir (Amira); her fur babies ~ Izzy and Princess; and a slew of
nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Miranda was loved and adored by everyone she came into contact with because she was a strong and sassy spirit who
was the embodiment of pure love and kindness. Today we celebrate her life because she truly "Laughed, Lived, and
Loved."
