Ozie L. Bell's Obituary
Our Heavenly Father in His omnipotence has summoned from this earthly pilgrimage another of His precious gems, Ozie L. Bell who departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 1:55 p.m.
Ozie was born to the late Clarence Gosby and the late Mamie Gosby on September 15, 1949 in Crossette, Arkansas. She was the fourth child of five siblings. Mamie Hyde preceded her in death. She graduated from Sumner High School and also received a Drafting Degree from Union Electric.
She was baptized at the age of eight by the late Rev. Daniel C. Davis and continued her membership at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church for 59 years under the pastorage of Bishop Courtney A. Jones. Her greatest passion was serving on the Usher Board.
Ozie was united in Holy Matrimony to Eugene Bell, Jr. on May 7, 1972 and to this union two children was born: Monica Bell and Regina Bell. She worked for Union Electric (Ameren) where she retired January, 2003.
Over the years, she was a Charter Member of the Dozen Social Club formed by twelve friends from grade school through high school. Ozie’s final meeting with them was on December 2, 2016. She was a member of the Union Electric Friendly Club. Ozie was an advent bowler carrying an average of 200+. Ozie was a trip coordinator with the B & L Social Club. She traveled with her family and friend to Las Vegas, December 11 2016. Her latest adventure was scheduled for August, 2017 to the Dominican Republic.
Ozie’s legacy of love will be cherished by her husband of forty-four years, Eugene Bell; two daughters: Monica (Jimmie) Watkins, Regina Bell; three sisters: Betty (Clem) Nimako-Boateng, Essie (Ralph) Foster, Delores Balthrop; two grandchildren: Jimmon Watkins, Osha Watkins; one nephew: Dwayne (LaFawn) Kennedy; two nieces: Roshuna Hyde, Erika (Eric) Taylor; four great nieces: Kelsey , Alisha, Erial , Eriah; loving mother-in-law: Helen Bell; brothers & sister-in-laws: Maurice, Samuel (Lena), Anthony (Carol), Nathaniel (Dorothy), Beverly, Regina, Denise, Rickey, Arlando, Charles (Dawn) and Leon Bell; godmother: Thessalonia White; godson: LaDaryl Buckles; goddaughter: Brenna Dukes; adopted child: Stacey Thomas; extended family: Helen Clay, Beverly Dukes; lifelong friends: Anthony White, Delores Deams, Carnell Jones, Daisy Robinson and Eathell Wells; her shopping friend: Tina Ellison and a host of other relatives and friends.
