John Abel
I just read a mention of Paul's passing in the Grinnell Magazine. I didn't know him well there, but I do have a memory to share. It was senior showcase, one of those precious nights between finals and graduation, and a night for seniors to share their talents. Paul played a complicated piano piece in which he played certain parts by setting his elbow on the keys while resting his head on that upturned hand. For me it captured the playfulness of that time, and the skill and knowledge that we were ready to go into the world with. I remember it to this day.
