Roger Williams' Obituary
Roger Williams was born to parents, Pecola and George Williams on
October 25, 1948.
He was educated in the Mississippi School System.
Roger accepted Christ at an early age at Shilo Missionary Baptist
Church in August 1969 in Bobo, Mississippi.
Roger was trained to be a Welder at Coahoma Jr. College in 1969.
Roger relocated to Pascagoula, Mississippi to work as a Welder.
On December 15, 1975, Roger joined Doris J. Brown in Holy Matrimony.
To this union three children were born, Tisha, Rozelen and Roger Jr.
Roger has held a variety of jobs, including: Ingall Ship Yard, a garbage
man and a mechanic. He most recently was employed by El Jay’s Automotive at the time of his passing.
He loved his pets. In his youth, he had a pet spider monkey and a
python. Roger also loved music and cars.
Roger departed this life on October 31, 2019. He is preceded death by
his mother, Mrs. Pecola Williams; brothers, Tom Houston, Robert Coleman Jackson, Calvin Houston and LeRoy Williams.
He is survived by: his father ~ George Williams, Sr.; five daughters ~
Latarsha Williams, Rosalind Williams of Clarksdale, Mississippi,
Ms. Janet Virgin, Jennifer Virgin and Monica Virgin of Saint Louis,
Missouri; one son ~ Roger (Essie) Williams, Jr. of Walls, Mississippi;
siblings ~ George Williams, Jr., Lewis Williams (Juanita), Willie L.
Houston, Lucille Givens (Ray), Alice Wilson, Willie Mae Jackson, Mary
Liner and Artie Mae Jenkins (Ron); twenty-two grandchildren; five great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members
and friends.
