Rose Keller's Obituary
Deaconess Rose was born to Earl Stroud and Naomi Ricketts Stroud
in Ullen, Illinois in 1925. Shortly afterwards the family moved to
Saint Louis, Missouri. Rose’s parents, three older brothers, her
spouses and her son all preceded her in death.
Rose married Alvin Montgomery Davie, Jr. in the 1940s, to this
union they had one son, Alvin Montgomery Davie, III. She later
married Alexander Keller and to this union one daughter, Patricia
Naomi Keller was born.
Rose attended Sumner High School, Trade School through Curtis
Wright/McQuay Norris (later name McDonald Douglas and Boeing)
and attended college.
Rose made the wing section of planes. She was also employed at
Saint Louis University in the field of Micro Biology, Missouri Pacific
Railroad Hospital and Jewish Hospital. After retirement, she opened
a daycare for children in her home for well over twenty years.
She and her husband, Deacon Alex Keller, presided over Dad’s Army
Club from 1954-2000; which contributed to charities. Finally, rose
worked diligently in the historical Central Baptist Church. She
Ushered, taught Adult Sunday School, assisted with baptisms,
amongst other tasks, and is still Deaconess Keller. She never tired.
Roseanna leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter ~ Patricia
Keller-Booker; thirty-two grandchildren, great grandchildren, greatgreat grandchildren; and a host of family, friends and a lineage too
large to list.
