Rosie Jean Newsome's Obituary
Mrs. Rosie Jean Newsome was a kind and caring woman who touched the
hearts of everyone she met. Rosie always had a positive outlook on life and
always said, “No problem is too big for Jesus.” She was a pillar of strength
and a source of inspiration for all those who knew her. When you were in her
presence, you felt love.
Born on August 30, 1942, to Robert Collins and Alma Dixson, Rosie spent
most of her early life in Grenada, Mississippi before moving to St. Louis as a
young lady. She was a faithful Christian and attended church regularly. In the
1960s, she met and fell in love with Charles Newsome (at Sadie’s Place),
whom she married and spent the remainder of her life with.
Rosie was the mother of Fredrick, Annette, and Robert (Opal, daughter-inlove). She cherished her family and devoted considerable time to teaching,
guiding, and loving her grandsons, Logan and Isaac. Her warmth, kindness,
and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Rosie passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 81.
While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life and the legacy of love and
kindness she leaves behind.
