Roy Stanley Key's Obituary
Roy Stanley Key was born April 8, 1951 to the union of Charlie and Clara Key,
Mill Creek Valley at Homer G. Phillips Hospital St Louis, Missouri. He was the
third oldest of four children born to this union.
He was educated through the St. Louis Public School System.
He was a member of New Jerusalem MB Church under Pastor Sam Williams and
he received Christ at an early age. He remained dedicated to the church serving
as an usher and singing in the junior choir. He joined St Louis Christian Center
Church under the leadership of Pastor Alfred D. Harvey and then moved on
with his wife to World Changers Church under the Leadership of Pastor Creflo
Dollar.
Roy was employed with National Vendors of St. Louis, Missouri retiring in 2002.
He married Stephanie Johnson and her two sons, Derrick Johnson Jr. and Tim
Newson Jr. by a previous marriage.
He was a creative talent who wrote poetry and songs. Playing volleyball was a
favorite past time at the local park with friends. His favorite singing group was
The Temptations and many other 60’s and 70’s groups. He played cards with
family, friends and grandchildren and loved going to flea markets and garage
sales.
Roy departed this life on May 2, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Charlie and Clara Key, a sister Agnes McDaniel a spouse Adrienne Williams and
one son Bryan.

He is survived and leaves to cherish memories: his wife ~ Stephanie; his
daughter ~ Theresa; siblings ~ Georgia Elaine Key, Charlie (Elaine) Key, Jr.,
Josephine (Donald) Hughes, Linda Bridges and Tiffany Johnson; three stepsons
~ Anthony, Derrick and Tim; three grandchildren ~ Tameka (Anthony),
TaJuan (Audrey) and Lee Anthony; two step grandchildren ~ Ella Grace and
Junior Grey, and six great grandchildren Isaac, TaJuan Jr., Railynn,
LeeAhmony, Lila and Nina and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
