Ted Freeman's Obituary
Ted Freeman was born September 15, 1978, to Theodore and Gloria Freeman, in
Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born into a large family and the middle child of seven
siblings. Ted had three brothers, Kevin, Brian and Phillip; and three sisters, Angie,
Aisha, and Ebony. His parents Gloria and Theodore Freeman; sister, Aisha; and
brother, Phillip preceded him in death. He leaves Kevin, Angie, Brian, and Ebony to
cherish his memory.
Ted was bought up in a stern home filled with love. At a young age, attending church
every Sunday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church was a requirement. He was
enrolled in Vashon High School and later attended Youth Build for construction. He
was determined to find his niche in the workforce. He obtained his CDL license, which
allowed him to operate large and heavy vehicles. Ted also enrolled in St Louis
University, a technical trade school, which focused on preparing individuals to work in
environmental remediation activities. He was able to complete all aspects of the
program, which allowed him to gain a variety of skills. He was certified as an Asbestos
Abatement Technician in April 2018. Ted later took his learnings and ventured into
owning his own business, which he worked at diligently until his last days.
Ted became a father at a young age to Teleiyah (Leah). His parenting created an
unbreakable bond. Not only was Ted her protector, but he was a pillar in her life.
Their time was spent talking hours on the phone, patronizing local businesses, and
sharing a love of music. After many years he was able to add to his legacy and brought
Navy (Erica) into the world. He loved his “Sunny Bono,” and enjoyed spending father
and son time with him. Ted had unconditional love for his children and wanted to be
connected to them as much as possible. Anyone that knew Ted understood the
unwavering love he had for his children. Teleiyah and Navy are left with the
characteristics of their dad and a bond that will forever be unmatched.
Ted was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, father, and friend. He left an everlasting
impression on anyone that crossed his path. He was the life of the party and brought
that energy everywhere he went. He was one that cherished family and the time spent
together. His family also extended to his friends, which he stayed close to until his
passing. He had an affinity for Jeeps and joined the Jeepers Creepers Jeep Gang.
They spent their time making a mark on St. Louis with Ted leading the way.
Ted transitioned on Thursday, March 2, 2023. His smile, energy and charisma will
forever be cherished and missed
