Thomas E. Russell Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas Edward Russell of Florissant, Missouri, formerly of Decatur,
Illinois, departed this life on April 24, 2023.
Tommy was born in Decatur, Illinois on December 27, 1945 to Livingston
Jack and Carolyn Jones Russell. He attended Stephen Decatur High
School.
He served in the U. S. Navy; Tommy worked at Caterpillar in Decatur for
thirty-two years. He married the love of his life, Patricia Glover on April 16,
1967, to this union two sons were born Thomas Russell, Jr. and Adrian
Russell. Tommy and Pat relocated to Florissant, Missouri twenty years
ago.
Tommy accepted Christ and was Baptized and became a member of
Olivet Missionary Baptist Church on November 20, 2005.
He had health issues that caused him much pain and limited his mobility.
He endured much and complained little with the love and support from his
family.
He is survived by his wife ~ Patricia; sons ~ T.R. and Adrian; special
nephews ~ Charles Gude, Jr. and Brian Glover; many grand and great
grandchildren; sisters ~ Judith Isom of Rantoul, II., Rebecca Espinoza of
Houston, Texas; brothers ~ Jack Russell (Angela), Kermit Wade and
Gregory Wade of Decatur, Illinois and Kim Wade of Jackson, Mississippi;
aunts ~ Margie Bond, Joliet, Illinois and Patricia Taylor of Decatur, Illinois;
uncles ~ Verle Russell of Decatur, Illinois and Canute Russell of Chicago,
Illinois; mother-in-law ~ Marie Oliver; sister-in-law ~ Lois Oldham (Rev.
Tyrone) of Decatur and Tia Henderson of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law ~
Robert Henderson of Decatur, Illinois; and a host of cousins, nephews and
nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, three brothers
Michael and David Russell, and Willie Wade Jr. and sister Gwendolyn
O'Neil. Sisters-in-law Lois Gude and
Debra Johnson.
